King Salman Relief Center treats 42 cancer patients from Gaza

As part of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia's ongoing humanitarian efforts to support the Palestinian people, the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center its impactful initiatives to alleviate the suffering of those affected in the Gaza Strip. In its latest initiative, the Center has begun sponsoring the treatment of 42 cancer patients from Gaza, as part of a comprehensive medical project being implemented in the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan.
The new batch has arrived and treatment has begun
The Jordanian capital, Amman, recently received a new group of 30 patients, who were immediately transferred upon arrival to the King Hussein Cancer Foundation and Center . Specialized medical teams began conducting the necessary examinations and developing intensive treatment plans for them. These patients join 12 others who arrived previously and are currently receiving treatment under the same program, bringing the total number of beneficiaries in this phase to 42 patients. This reflects the center's commitment to ensuring continuity of healthcare for the most vulnerable groups.
Context of the health crisis in Gaza
This initiative comes at a time when the health sector in Gaza is facing near-total collapse as a result of the ongoing events, with most hospitals out of service and cancer treatment centers ceasing operations. Cancer patients in the Strip are suffering under dire conditions due to shortages of medication, restrictions on movement, and the lack of electricity needed to operate medical equipment, making external intervention absolutely essential to saving their lives. This step represents a lifeline for patients who have been denied their right to treatment within the besieged Strip.
Comprehensive care and strategic partnerships
The project not only covers medical costs but also fully covers all living expenses for patients and their companions throughout their stay. The evacuation and transfer of patients was successfully carried out through close cooperation with the World Health Organization and in direct coordination with the Jordanian authorities and the Embassy of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in Jordan, ensuring their safe and comfortable arrival.
The Kingdom's leading role in humanitarian work
These efforts are part of a long history of Saudi support for the Palestinian cause and reaffirm the Kingdom's noble mission of extending a helping hand to those in need around the world. This initiative highlights the importance of the strategic partnership between the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center and regional medical institutions such as the King Hussein Cancer Center, with whom the two parties signed a joint cooperation agreement in 2024 aimed at saving as many patients as possible, thus solidifying the Kingdom's position as a global beacon of humanitarian and relief work.
