King Salman Center distributes winter clothing vouchers in Idlib as part of the Kanf project

As part of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia's ongoing humanitarian efforts to support affected populations worldwide, the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center continued its relief programs inside Syria. The Center distributed 315 vouchers for winter clothing in the Khirbet al-Jouz center in Idlib Governorate, northwestern Syria, as part of the 2026 "Kanaf" winter clothing distribution project.
Alleviating the suffering of winter in displacement camps
This initiative comes at a crucial time, as displaced people in camps in northern Syria are suffering from harsh weather conditions with temperatures plummeting to very low levels. The vouchers distributed target 315 individuals from the most vulnerable families, enabling them to purchase essential winter clothing to protect themselves from the bitter cold, especially given the camps' inadequate infrastructure and lack of proper heating.
"Kanaf" Project: A mechanism to preserve dignity
The "Kanaf" project, implemented by the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center, is distinguished by its mechanism of using shopping vouchers instead of direct in-kind distribution. This mechanism aims to give beneficiaries the freedom to choose clothing in sizes that suit the needs of their children and families, thus enhancing the dignity of the beneficiaries and simultaneously supporting local economic activity in the targeted areas through purchases from approved local stores.
The Kingdom's leading role in humanitarian work
The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, through its humanitarian arm, the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center, is among the largest donors of humanitarian assistance to the Syrian people since the outbreak of the crisis. This aid extends beyond winter clothing to include food security, healthcare, shelter, and education. These efforts reflect the Kingdom's unwavering commitment to supporting vulnerable groups and providing them with a dignified life, in line with Vision 2030, which places great importance on volunteer and humanitarian work at both the regional and international levels.
The center continues to monitor humanitarian needs in various affected areas to ensure that aid reaches those who need it in a timely manner, thus contributing to saving lives and alleviating the difficult living conditions faced by displaced persons and refugees in the region.
