King Salman Center distributes 4,170 winter clothing sets in Hadramawt as part of the Kanf project
As part of the ongoing humanitarian efforts by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to support the brotherly Yemeni people, the King Salman Center for Relief and Humanitarian Aid to implement the winter clothing distribution project known as “Kanaf”, targeting the most needy families in the desert areas of Wadi and Hadramawt Governorate.
The latest campaign saw the distribution of 4,170 winter clothing kits , benefiting thousands of families suffering from difficult living conditions, especially with the significant drop in temperatures in open and desert areas during the current winter season.
The importance of the “Kanaf” project in facing the winter cold
The “Kanaf” project comes as an urgent and necessary response to the climate challenges facing the inhabitants of desert regions in Yemen. The Hadramawt Governorate, specifically the valley and desert areas, has a continental climate characterized by extreme cold and harsh nights during the winter, posing a real health risk to children, the elderly, and vulnerable groups who lack adequate heating and clothing.
The project aims primarily to bridge the gap in basic needs and provide warmth to families who do not have the purchasing power to provide winter supplies, thus contributing to protecting them from cold-related illnesses such as severe colds and pneumonia, and thereby relieving pressure on the exhausted health system in Yemen.
