King Salman Center distributes food aid in Aleppo and Hadhramaut

As part of the ongoing humanitarian efforts of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to support affected people in the region, the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center continued to implement its ambitious relief programs, distributing a new batch of food aid targeting displaced families in Aleppo Governorate in the Syrian Arab Republic, in addition to continuing its extensive operations in Hadramawt Governorate in Yemen.

Supporting displaced people in Aleppo

In Aleppo Governorate, 250 food baskets were distributed to 250 displaced families facing difficult living conditions. This distribution is part of the Saudi aid project for the Syrian people and is an extension of a series of initiatives aimed at alleviating the suffering of displaced persons and providing them with food security in light of the current situation.

This aid is of utmost importance given the complex humanitarian conditions in the displacement areas of Syria, where providing food is a top priority for humanitarian organizations to ensure the survival of the most vulnerable families, especially women, children and the elderly, and to help them cope with economic and living challenges.

Extensive food interventions in Yemen

In a related development, and as part of the emergency food intervention project in the Republic of Yemen, the center continued its intensive efforts in Hadramawt Governorate. These operations included the distribution of more than 27,000 food baskets targeting the most vulnerable families in several districts of Wadi and Hadramawt Desert.

Statistics indicate that this aid will cover the needs of approximately 190,400 individuals, reflecting the significant positive impact of this initiative in improving the living conditions of thousands of Yemenis. Distribution is carried out according to a well-organized humanitarian plan and approved mechanisms that ensure aid reaches its intended beneficiaries with complete transparency.

The Kingdom's leading role in humanitarian work

These field operations embody the leading role of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia through its humanitarian arm, the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center, which was established to serve as a unified umbrella for Saudi relief efforts abroad. This assistance stems from the Kingdom's sense of responsibility towards Arab and Muslim peoples and its unwavering commitment to extending a helping hand to those in need and those affected by disasters and crises worldwide, without discrimination.

The center operates according to precise international standards to ensure the sustainability of relief work, as its efforts are not limited to distributing food baskets only, but extend to include the health, shelter, water and environmental sanitation sectors, which contributes to strengthening community stability in the targeted areas.
