The King Salman Relief Center concludes its campaign in Turkey

The King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center successfully concluded its latest humanitarian medical mission in the Republic of Turkey, where the Sama'a Volunteer Project for Cochlear Implantation and Auditory Rehabilitation provided services to 371 beneficiaries in Hatay Province. This significant initiative underscores the leading humanitarian role played by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in alleviating the suffering of those in need and those affected by disasters worldwide, and in providing specialized medical care to the most vulnerable groups.
Integrated medical services provided by the Samaa Volunteer Project
The volunteer medical team from the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center carried out a series of precise medical procedures from May 17 to 21. These services included comprehensive audiometry, precise measurement and fabrication of hearing aids to fit patients, and the programming and distribution of modern hearing aids to 371 beneficiaries in the cities of Samandağ, Defne, and Reyhanlı in Turkey's Hatay Province. A select group of Saudi doctors, consultants, and volunteers from various related medical and technical specialties participated in this campaign, making exceptional efforts to ensure the success of this noble humanitarian endeavor.
The context of the humanitarian initiative and Saudi Arabia's continued support for Turkey
This specialized medical campaign comes within a long history of continuous humanitarian support provided by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia through its humanitarian arm, the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center. Since its establishment in 2015 under the generous directives of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, the Center has consistently provided urgent assistance and sustainable programs in more than 90 countries worldwide without discrimination. This initiative in Turkey’s Hatay Province is of particular importance, given that the region was among the hardest hit by the devastating earthquake that struck southern Turkey and northern Syria in February 2013, creating a need for medical services and rehabilitation that far exceeded available local resources.
The positive impact of the project at both the local and international levels
This medical project's impact extends far beyond simply providing medical equipment; it aims to create a radical and lasting change in the lives of beneficiaries and their families. Restoring hearing opens new horizons for children and adults, enabling them to reintegrate into society, continue their education, and access employment opportunities, thus contributing to an overall improvement in the quality of life at the local level in the targeted areas. Regionally and internationally, such projects reinforce the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia's position as a leading global donor in the field of humanitarian work and underscore the deep fraternal ties and cooperation between the Saudi and Turkish peoples in addressing humanitarian and health crises.
