Royal patronage and attention to the Holy Quran
This competition is an extension of the sound approach adopted by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia since its founding by King Abdulaziz bin Abdulrahman – may God have mercy on him – in caring for the Holy Quran, through printing, publishing, and teaching. The 27th edition embodies the continuation of this generous patronage from the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, as the wise leadership pays great attention to supporting Quran memorization societies and encouraging young people to engage with the Quran, reflecting the Kingdom's Islamic identity and its pioneering role in serving Islam and Muslims.
The educational and social impact of the competition
The importance of the King Salman Quran Memorization Competition extends beyond mere competition to encompass profound educational and social dimensions. It directly contributes to strengthening moderate Islamic values among young men and women, and intellectually fortifying them by connecting them to the Holy Quran. Furthermore, the competition fosters a stimulating environment of healthy competition, raising the level of memorization and recitation among participants, and cultivating a generation proficient in Quranic sciences and capable of representing the Kingdom in international forums.
Valuable prizes and unlimited support
In an effort to incentivize and support the competition, it has allocated substantial cash prizes totaling 7 million Saudi Riyals, underscoring the generous and unwavering support the leadership provides to this prestigious Quranic competition. These prizes are among the highest offered in local competitions, reflecting the state's appreciation for those who memorize the Holy Quran and their esteemed position in society, and encouraging more young men and women to enroll in the Quran memorization circles spread throughout the Kingdom.
