Dana destinations in the holy sites attract 426,000 visitors

The sustainable development projects overseen by Kadana Development and Investment Company , the executive arm of the Royal Commission for Makkah City and the Holy Sites, achieved remarkable success and attracted a large number of visitors during the mid-year school break, exceeding 426,000. This figure reflects the qualitative shift taking place in the Holy Sites, transforming them from seasonal areas linked solely to the Hajj season into vibrant, year-round destinations.

Strategic shift in the management of holy sites

This achievement is the culmination of strategic efforts aimed at maximizing the utilization of the infrastructure of the Holy Sites and activating their social and tourism role in line with the objectives of the Kingdom's Vision 2030. The Kadana Company is working to implement the concepts of "humanizing cities" and enhancing the quality of life by transforming open spaces in Makkah and the Holy Sites into human-friendly environments that combine spirituality, recreation, and physical activity, thus contributing to the promotion of public health and providing natural and cultural havens for the residents of the Holy City and its visitors.

Kadana Path: A Model for Healthy Living

According to statistics, the Kadana Trail recorded a remarkable turnout, attracting over 83,000 visitors during the holiday period. This trail serves as a model for a modern, interactive environment, designed to combine sports and family recreation. It features safe and well-maintained walking paths suitable for all age groups, encouraging walking in a safe and enjoyable environment.

To ensure a complete experience, the trail has been equipped with comfortable shaded seating areas, rest areas with modern technologies such as smartphone charging accessories, as well as a diverse range of restaurants, cafes and shops that meet the needs of visitors, making a visit to the trail a complete recreational and service experience.

Mount of Mercy: Urban development of a historical landmark

On the other hand, the Jabal al-Rahma area in Arafat witnessed the largest influx of visitors, recording more than 343,000. This large turnout is a result of the comprehensive development project implemented by Kadana to address visual pollution and improve the urban landscape in the area surrounding the mountain, which covers a vast area of approximately 196,000 square meters.

The project successfully preserved the spatial and spiritual identity of Jabal Al Rahma while incorporating modern touches to serve visitors. Over 10,000 square meters of green spaces were dedicated to creating a pleasant atmosphere and enhancing the aesthetic appeal. The site is also equipped with modern amenities, including retail kiosks, drinking fountains, shaded seating areas, and organized parking for cars and buses, serving the area year-round.

Economic and social impact

The activation of these destinations has an impact that extends beyond mere entertainment, encompassing significant economic and social dimensions. Economically, these projects contribute to creating investment opportunities and seasonal and permanent jobs for the region's young men and women through commercial and service outlets. Socially, these destinations strengthen the bonds within the Makkah community and provide a healthy environment for families to enjoy their leisure time, thus reinforcing the concept of sustainable development of the Holy Sites as an integral part of Makkah's urban fabric.
