Jeddah Municipality to remove 1.2 million tons of waste in November 2025

As part of its ongoing efforts to enhance environmental sanitation and improve quality of life, the Jeddah Municipality record-breaking results in cleaning and environmental treatment operations. Field teams removed approximately 1,191,562 tons of various types of waste and construction debris during November 2025. These intensive efforts are part of comprehensive operational plans aimed at improving the urban landscape across the city's neighborhoods.

Details of field operations and waste management

The report issued by the Environmental Treatment Center of the General Directorate of Cleaning Projects revealed detailed information reflecting the scale of the work completed. Construction and demolition waste topped the list, with the amount delivered to the landfill reaching approximately 1,038,447 tons , reflecting the accelerated pace of work on the urban and development projects underway in the city. In parallel, the following were also addressed:

  • 89,528 tons of household solid waste.
  • 40,449 tons of commercial solid waste.
  • 17,419 tons of plant waste and large-sized debris.

The work also included removing 162 tons of seaweed to keep the waterfronts clean, and 289 tons of weekly debris, in addition to processing 5,267 tons of various wastes that included slaughterhouse waste, used tires, newspapers and papers, ensuring their safe disposal in accordance with environmental standards.
