Jeddah Autumn 2024: World-class sporting events to boost tourism

Jeddah continues to solidify its position as one of the region's leading tourist and sporting destinations, with its autumn events calendar combining the allure of its marine nature with the power of its terrestrial landscape. The Red Sea city is currently teeming with visitors and enthusiasts from around the world, offering a vibrant sports and entertainment extravaganza that enhances Saudi Arabia's presence on the international stage, in line with the goals of Vision 2030 and the Quality of Life Program.
Formula 4: Unleashing speed on the fastest street circuit
The Aramco Saudi Formula 4 Championship has ignited excitement as part of Jeddah Season, taking advantage of the city's state-of-the-art infrastructure. The Jeddah Corniche Circuit, ranked among the fastest street circuits in the world, hosted the third round on November 10th and 11th, followed by the fourth round on November 14th and 15th. The championship is scheduled to conclude with the fifth and final round from December 5th to 6th, 2025. This championship serves as a vital platform for discovering young talent and preparing them for larger international competitions, reflecting the Kingdom's commitment to developing the motorsports sector.
Saudi Arabia Rally: The Challenge of Diverse Terrain
Away from the asphalt, amidst the rugged desert terrain within Jeddah province, the Saudi Rally emerged as an exceptional event. Jeddah hosted the FIA World Rally Championship (WRC), with the rally representing the 14th and final round of the championship calendar, culminating at the vibrant Roshan Waterfront.
This round, held from November 26 to 29, witnessed fierce competition across 17 stages spanning 320 kilometers. The route was distinguished by its unique geological diversity, combining dirt surfaces, gravel-sandy terrain, and asphalt tracks, posing a true test of the drivers' skills and the capabilities of their vehicles, and highlighting the Kingdom's rich environmental diversity.
Formula Powerboat: Thrills Above the Waves
In a scene that embodies Jeddah's maritime identity, the waves of the Obhur Corniche harmonize with the high speeds and cutting-edge technology of the Formula 1H2O powerboat racing. A select group of international drivers compete in the Jeddah Grand Prix, hosted by the city for the first time in the Kingdom's history, adding a new dimension to water sports in the region.
The three-day event (November 27-29) begins with free practice sessions, followed by qualifying to determine starting positions, and concludes with the main race, which lasts between 40 and 45 minutes. This event is not only a sporting event but also directly contributes to revitalizing the tourism and hospitality sector, attracting thousands of fans and international media, thus confirming that Jeddah is truly a city of both land and sea, moving at a rapidly global pace.
