Islamic Affairs: 176,000 inspection tours of mosques during Ramadan

intensified Islamic Affairs its monitoring and field efforts across the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, conducting 176,971 field visits to mosques and prayer halls during the first half of Ramadan 1445 AH. These extensive efforts reflect the Ministry's commitment to ensuring the quality of services provided in mosques and verifying their readiness to receive millions of worshippers and pilgrims during the holy month. The Ministry also monitored and addressed any issues immediately through a sophisticated electronic system dedicated to field monitoring.
Human and technical resources to serve worshippers
The Ministry explained in its press release that these comprehensive inspections covered more than 84,000 mosques and prayer halls across the Kingdom. This massive task was undertaken by a team of over 7,000 inspectors, working around the clock to assess the quality of services provided to worshippers. These efforts aim to ensure the completeness of technical and service facilities, identify the mosques' needs for maintenance, cleaning, and operation, and address them immediately to guarantee a conducive and spiritually enriching environment for worshippers during this blessed season.
Islamic Affairs and the Message of Caring for the Houses of God
These efforts fall within the broader context of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia's commitment to mosques, a long-standing approach since the founding of the state that prioritizes the physical and spiritual well-being of mosques. This care extends beyond construction to include ongoing maintenance and meticulous oversight to ensure the sustainability of services. These field visits reflect the Ministry's commitment to achieving the goals of Vision 2030 in enhancing the quality of services provided to pilgrims and mosque-goers, and ensuring their comfort and tranquility in performing their religious duties with ease.
Close monitoring of equipment and audio systems
The field visits included a thorough inspection of imams, preachers, and muezzins' adherence to the regulations and instructions issued by the Ministry. Inspectors focused particularly on the readiness of mosque facilities, the proper functioning of sound systems and external loudspeakers, ensuring their volume was appropriate and undisturbed, and closely monitoring the cleaning and maintenance work carried out by contracted operating companies to verify that they were fulfilling their duties according to the highest approved quality standards.
Promoting tranquility and spirituality during the holy month
These inspections are of paramount importance, extending beyond mere procedural oversight; they directly contribute to enhancing the spiritual atmosphere for worshippers. By ensuring that muezzins adhere to the Umm al-Qura calendar for the call to prayer for Isha and the performance of prayers, by organizing iftar meals for those fasting in accordance with health and safety regulations, and by preventing the filming or broadcasting of prayers on social media, the Ministry ensures that worshippers' focus and devotion are not disrupted and their privacy is protected. Reports have revealed a high level of discipline and awareness among mosque staff, reflecting the positive impact of this ongoing monitoring in preserving the sanctity of the place and time.
