The religious and organizational dimensions of selecting Friday sermon preachers in the Two Holy Mosques
The selection of imams and preachers at the Two Holy Mosques is subject to a meticulous and highly carefully managed system overseen by the General Presidency for Religious Affairs. Historically, the pulpits of the Two Holy Mosques have held a revered place in the hearts of Muslims throughout the ages, serving as a source of guidance, instruction, and the dissemination of Islam's tolerant values. These periodic arrangements aim to provide a comprehensive and distinctive spiritual experience for pilgrims and visitors to the Grand Mosque in Mecca and the Prophet's Mosque in Medina, ensuring that the message of Islam is delivered clearly, smoothly, and in a manner befitting the sanctity of the place and the solemnity of the occasion.
A message of moderation and balance from the heart of the Two Holy Mosques
The importance of the Friday sermon at the Two Holy Mosques extends beyond Saudi Arabia, serving as a guiding platform with broad regional and international influence. These sacred pulpits act as a global forum for addressing the entire Muslim Ummah, discussing contemporary issues within a framework of moderation and rejecting extremism and fanaticism. Therefore, the Presidency is keen to ensure that the sermons focus on strengthening national and Islamic unity and disseminating the values of tolerance and coexistence advocated by Islam, thus ensuring that the impact of these sermons transcends geographical boundaries and reaches millions of Muslims worldwide.
Modern technologies and instant translation to serve worshippers
In light of the tremendous digital transformation underway in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, the General Presidency for Religious Affairs is harnessing all available modern technologies to serve worshippers and visitors. This includes providing simultaneous translation services for the Friday sermon into several international languages, ensuring that the sermons' content and purposeful messages reach non-Arabic speakers among those visiting the Grand Mosque in Mecca and the Prophet's Mosque in Medina. These efforts are made possible by the unwavering support and generous patronage of the Kingdom's wise leadership, which places serving the Two Holy Mosques and their visitors at the forefront of its priorities and concerns.
