The Citizen's Account and additional support have been extended until 2026 by royal decree
The Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, may God protect him, directed, based on what was submitted by His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, may God protect him, to extend the work of the Citizen Account Program and the additional temporary support for beneficiaries for a full year, to continue until the end of 2026 AD, in addition to continuing to open the door for registration in the program for new beneficiaries.

This generous approval comes as an extension of the great care that the wise leadership – may God support them – bestows upon its citizens, and its keenness to address their needs and alleviate their financial burdens. This decision represents a strategic step to enhance the living standards of Saudi families, especially in light of global economic changes that have impacted inflation rates and the prices of basic commodities in various countries around the world.
Extending the additional support is a key pillar for enabling eligible families to face these challenges, as the program ensures that direct financial support is directed to the most needy groups, thus enhancing their purchasing power and maintaining a decent standard of living.
Program background and strategic objectives
It is worth noting that the Citizen Account Program was launched in December 2017 as one of the most important pillars of the National Transformation Program and the Kingdom’s Vision 2030. The program was established with the aim of protecting Saudi families from the direct and indirect impact of various economic reforms, which included correcting energy and water prices and implementing value-added tax.
Since its launch, the program has succeeded in being an effective social safety net, as the support mechanism is based on precise criteria that include the total income of the family, the number of its members, and the ages of dependents, to ensure fairness in distribution and that support reaches those who actually deserve it.
