Riyadh Infrastructure participates in the ISOCARP World Conference 2025

In a move reflecting the rapid development witnessed by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in the urban development sector, the Riyadh Infrastructure Projects Center its active participation in the 61st International Council of City and Regional Planners (ISOCARP) . This prominent global event, hosted by the capital city of Riyadh from December 1st to 4th, 2025, is jointly organized by the Riyadh Municipality and the International Council of City and Regional Planners, under the theme "Cities and Regions in Motion: Planning Pathways to Resilience and Quality of Life."
The importance of the event and the context of Riyadh hosting it
Riyadh's hosting of this conference holds significant strategic importance, coming at a time when the Saudi capital is undergoing unprecedented urban transformation as part of the Kingdom's Vision 2030. The ISOCARP conference is a prestigious international platform that brings together leading experts and urban planners from around the world, with over 700 experts and practitioners from more than 90 countries participating annually. The conference aims to facilitate the exchange of expertise and showcase the latest global practices in urban planning, making Riyadh's selection as the venue an international recognition of its growing status as a regional hub for urban innovation and sustainable development.
The role of the Infrastructure Projects Center
Through this strategic partnership, the center aims to highlight its pioneering experience in infrastructure management and planning, showcasing the innovative governance models it implements. These models seek to balance rapid urban growth with the demands of quality of life, while focusing on minimizing the environmental impact of major projects. The center's methodology is based on transparent and scalable governance, ensuring efficient implementation and resource sustainability.
In this context, Engineer Bader bin Mohammed Al-Tamimi , the center's Executive Vice President for Comprehensive Planning, will participate in a key dialogue session. Al-Tamimi will address the topic of "Infrastructure Governance for Integrated Planning," reviewing mechanisms for effective coordination between different sectors and the importance of early alignment of infrastructure needs to ensure projects do not conflict and are completed quickly.
Expected impact and participation in sessions
The center's participation extends beyond the main session to include four other specialized sessions. These sessions will focus on discussing the institutional and regulatory frameworks that guide infrastructure development and mega-projects. These discussions are expected to contribute to strengthening cooperation and integrated work among relevant stakeholders, both locally and internationally.
