643 housing units delivered in Mecca as part of the Crown Prince's generous donation

On behalf of the Advisor to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, the Governor of Makkah Region, His Royal Highness Prince Khalid bin Faisal bin Abdulaziz, His Royal Highness Prince Saud bin Mishaal bin Abdulaziz, Deputy Governor of the Region, presided over the ceremony for handing over ownership documents for housing units to a number of beneficiary families in the region. The handover included 643 housing units distributed across various governorates of Makkah Region, as part of the generous initiative and donation of one billion riyals from the personal funds of His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, Crown Prince and Prime Minister – may God protect him – to support the “Jood Housing” platform.

Context of the initiative and its developmental dimensions

This step comes as a culmination of the wise leadership's ongoing efforts to strengthen the Kingdom's developmental housing system. The Crown Prince's donation represents a pioneering model in supporting the non-profit sector and empowering the most vulnerable families to acquire their first home. This support falls within the broader framework of the Kingdom's Vision 2030, which aims to increase homeownership rates among citizens, enhance quality of life, and provide a social safety net that ensures family stability for citizens in all regions of the Kingdom.

Quality standards and speed of completion

In accordance with the directives of His Royal Highness the Crown Prince to complete these high-quality housing projects within a record time of no more than 12 months, the National Housing Development Foundation ("Sakān") intensified its efforts in cooperation with qualified national companies. The housing units in the Makkah region were selected according to the highest technical and engineering specifications, ensuring the sustainability of the construction and providing a safe and fully serviced residential environment. This reflects His Royal Highness's commitment to providing a dignified life for the beneficiaries, not merely shelter.

Social and economic impact

This project's impact extends beyond simply providing housing; it encompasses significant social and economic dimensions. Homeownership is a cornerstone of family stability, positively impacting children's academic performance and the overall psychological well-being of the family. Furthermore, injecting such initiatives into the real estate market stimulates economic activity and creates development opportunities across various governorates, contributing to balanced and sustainable development.

Thanks and gratitude to the leadership

At the conclusion of the ceremony, His Royal Highness the Deputy Governor of Makkah Region, on behalf of Prince Khalid bin Faisal and all the beneficiaries, expressed his deepest gratitude and appreciation to His Royal Highness the Crown Prince for this generous and unsurprising contribution. His Royal Highness emphasized that this support embodies the leadership's close connection to its citizens and its responsiveness to their needs, placing the well-being and housing stability of citizens at the forefront of national priorities.

For his part, His Excellency the Minister of Municipalities and Housing and Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the “Sakan” Foundation, Mr. Majid bin Abdullah Al-Hogail, expressed his thanks and appreciation to His Highness the Prince of Makkah Region and His Highness his Deputy for the great support and facilities provided to complete the project on time, stressing that the Foundation will continue, through the “Jood Housing” initiative, to deliver the remaining installments in various regions of the Kingdom according to the planned schedule.
