The border region between Cambodia and Thailand has witnessed a dangerous military escalation, leading to a widespread humanitarian crisis. Authorities in Phnom Penh have reported that more than half a million people have been displaced in Cambodia as a result of the border fighting that has been ongoing for two weeks. These developments come amid the excessive use of military force, including artillery shelling and airstrikes, which has exacerbated the suffering of civilians on both sides of the border.

Although the number of people in shelters has recently decreased, more than 200,000 still rely on government-run shelters to escape renewed clashes.
