The arrest followed their observation of fishing without the required permits from the relevant authorities, and quantities of illegally caught fish were found in their possession.

The Directorate also called upon everyone to promptly report any instances of environmental or wildlife violations by calling the unified number (911) in the Makkah, Madinah, Riyadh, and Eastern regions, or via the numbers (994), (999), and (996) in the rest of the Kingdom. The Directorate emphasized that all reports are treated with complete confidentiality and that those reporting bear no responsibility.
