Services and features of the Qasid digital portal in the Two Holy Mosques

The General Presidency for Religious Affairs at the Grand Mosque and the Prophet's Mosque continues its rapid progress towards enhancing the digital transformation of religious services through the activation and development of the "Pilgrim Portal" digital platform. These efforts are part of the Presidency's commitment to facilitating access for pilgrims, visitors, and Umrah performers to reliable religious content, leveraging the latest technologies to serve those visiting the two holy mosques.
The context of digital transformation and Vision 2030
The launch and development of the “Al-Qasid Portal” cannot be viewed in isolation from the significant technological advancements taking place in Saudi Arabia as part of Vision 2030. The “Serving the Guests of God” program is one of the Vision’s key pillars, aiming to enrich the religious and cultural experience of pilgrims performing Hajj and Umrah. The shift from traditional to smart digital services is essential to accommodate the increasing number of visitors and ensure a seamless and secure spiritual experience, allowing visitors to access accurate information at the touch of a button.
Key services of the “Al-Qasid Portal” in the Two Holy Mosques
The “Al-Qasid Portal” is a comprehensive digital platform offering a diverse range of religious and enrichment services that visitors need, most notably:
- Live broadcast: Live transmission of sermons and scholarly lessons held in the corridors of the Two Holy Mosques, allowing Muslims around the world to follow scholarly gatherings.
- Basic information: Providing accurate prayer times, and introducing the holy sites and landmarks of the Two Holy Mosques historically and geographically.
- Legal guidance: Providing simplified and documented explanations of the manner of prayer and ablution, in addition to explaining legal terms, and selections of traditional supplications.
- Audio Library: Providing access to humble recitations by the Imams of the Two Holy Mosques.
Digital initiatives for teaching the Quran and spreading knowledge
In addition to the Al-Qasid portal, the Presidency has enhanced its digital infrastructure with specialized platforms dedicated to serving the Holy Quran and disseminating Islamic knowledge globally. These include the launch of the "Al-Haramain Quran Recitation Center," which provides remote Quranic education for beneficiaries worldwide, and the "Surah Al-Fatihah Platform," which focuses on teaching and correcting the recitation of the Surah using artificial intelligence and other modern technologies.
The efforts also included the “Message of the Two Holy Mosques” platform, which is concerned with publishing digital books and religious content in several international languages, reflecting the international dimension of the message of the Two Holy Mosques and its impact on spreading moderation and tolerance, and breaking the language barrier for visitors of different nationalities.
The expected impact of digital services
This integrated digital system contributes to enhancing the quality of services provided to visitors of the Two Holy Mosques, saving them time and effort in searching for fatwas and accurate information. It also ensures the dissemination of authentic Islamic knowledge from its pure source in the Two Holy Mosques to all corners of the earth, thus reinforcing the Kingdom's position as the beating heart of the Islamic world and the guardian of the holy sites and their visitors.
