King Salman Relief Center distributes food aid in 4 countries
The King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center continued its pioneering humanitarian efforts to provide assistance to those in need and those affected by crises around the world. The Center implemented a series of intensive relief operations, including the distribution of diverse food aid in four countries: Afghanistan, Lebanon, Sudan, and Chad. These field operations are part of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia's ongoing strategy to support global food security and stand by its brotherly and friendly nations during times of crisis.
Ongoing support for families in Afghanistan
As part of the 2026 Food Security and Emergency Support Project in Afghanistan, the Center intensified its field activities, distributing 178 food baskets in Taloqan, the capital of Takhar province, benefiting 178 families (1,068 individuals), with a focus on returnees and orphans. Simultaneously, 548 food baskets were distributed in Kunduz province, benefiting 3,288 individuals, reflecting the Center's commitment to reaching the most vulnerable groups in various provinces and remote areas of Afghanistan.
Relief for refugees and the host community in Lebanon
In Lebanon, the center expanded its humanitarian response in the Mount Lebanon and Akkar governorates. In the village of Aramoun, 1,650 food baskets and 1,650 cartons of dates were distributed. This aid targeted Syrian and Palestinian refugees, as well as the most vulnerable families in the Lebanese host community, reaching a total of 8,250 beneficiaries. These food and date distribution projects aim to alleviate the economic burden on families.
In-kind assistance to Sudan and Chad
Saudi Arabia's humanitarian efforts have extended to the African continent, with the center distributing 2,000 cartons of dates in the Sheikan locality of North Kordofan State, Sudan, benefiting 8,048 individuals. This distribution is part of a larger project to distribute 267 tons of dates across various Sudanese states. In Chad, specifically in the Kanem region, 750 food baskets were distributed, benefiting 4,500 of the most vulnerable individuals, as part of an in-kind assistance project.

Since its establishment in 2015 under the directives of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz, the center has become the humanitarian arm of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, operating according to rigorous international standards to ensure that aid reaches those who need it without discrimination. Today, the center is one of the most important global relief organizations, having implemented thousands of projects in the sectors of food security, health, shelter, and education in dozens of disaster-stricken countries, thus solidifying the Kingdom's position as a leading nation in international charitable work.
