Border guards apprehend individuals violating fishing regulations in Al-Qunfudhah
As part of the ongoing efforts by security and regulatory authorities in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to protect marine resources and ensure compliance with regulations and laws, the coastal patrols of the Border Guard sector in Al-Qunfudhah Governorate in the Makkah Region were able to apprehend violators of the marine fishing system.
The Border Guard explained that patrols spotted two Bangladeshi residents violating the safety and security regulations for those engaged in maritime activities within the Kingdom's territorial waters. They were caught fishing without the necessary permits and were found in possession of quantities of fish caught illegally. Initial legal procedures were completed, and they were referred to the relevant authorities for the application of the legally prescribed penalties.

The General Directorate of Border Guards stressed the importance of all fishermen and hikers adhering to regulations and instructions, urging everyone to report any suspected incidents or violations affecting the environment or wildlife. It clarified that reports can be made by calling 911 in the Makkah, Riyadh, and Eastern regions, or 994, 999, and 996 in the rest of the Kingdom, emphasizing that all reports are treated with complete confidentiality.
