Bahrain appreciates the role of Saudi Arabia and the UAE in supporting the stability of Yemen

The Kingdom of Bahrain, which holds the current presidency of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), expressed its deep appreciation for the pivotal and strategic role played by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates in supporting the security and stability of the Republic of Yemen. This stance stems from the fraternal and historical responsibilities incumbent upon the two brotherly nations and their unwavering commitment to safeguarding Arab and Gulf national security within the framework of the GCC.
Gulf unity and joint action
In a statement issued by the Bahraini Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Kingdom affirmed its absolute confidence in the wisdom and sagacity of the leadership of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates, and their remarkable ability to manage complex regional issues and contain any differences of opinion that may arise, within the framework of the "unified Gulf home." The statement emphasized that this harmony is perfectly aligned with the established principles of the Gulf Cooperation Council, which are based on solidarity, understanding, and a shared destiny, thus serving the common aspirations of the region's peoples to consolidate security, stability, and prosperity.
Dimensions of Saudi-Emirati support for Yemen
The role played by Riyadh and Abu Dhabi in Yemen is not limited to the political or military spheres, but extends to comprehensive humanitarian and developmental dimensions that constitute a lifeline for the brotherly Yemeni people. The two countries have provided generous support through relief and humanitarian aid programs, such as the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center and the Emirates Red Crescent, with the aim of alleviating the human suffering resulting from the conflict, rehabilitating infrastructure, and supporting the Yemeni economy to prevent its collapse. This reflects the deep fraternal ties between the peoples of the Arabian Peninsula.
Adherence to the political solution and the three references
The Bahraini Ministry of Foreign Affairs reiterated Manama's firm and unwavering support for all regional and international initiatives and efforts aimed at achieving a comprehensive and sustainable political solution to the Yemeni crisis. It emphasized that the optimal path to a solution lies in adhering to the three internationally agreed-upon frameworks: the Gulf Cooperation Council Initiative and its Implementation Mechanism, the outcomes of the Comprehensive National Dialogue Conference, and relevant UN Security Council resolutions, foremost among them Resolution 2216. These frameworks constitute the legitimate and legal basis that guarantees Yemen's sovereignty, unity, and territorial integrity.
The strategic importance of Yemen's stability
This Gulf support for Yemen comes at a time of significant geopolitical challenges in the region, as Yemen's stability is a cornerstone of the security of international waterways in the Red Sea and the Bab el-Mandeb Strait. Therefore, the Saudi and Emirati efforts are not only aimed at protecting Yemen, but also contribute directly to securing global trade and safeguarding regional security from external interference that threatens the stability of the entire region.
