Ain Dar inaugurates a new walking track with world-class specifications and smart paths

The Ain Dar Municipality announced today the completion of all construction and operational work on the walking track adjacent to the central market. This significant development comes as part of the municipality's ongoing efforts to enhance the sports and recreational infrastructure in the city center, and is a practical implementation of the Kingdom's Vision 2030 goals through the "Quality of Life" program, which aims to provide a healthy and sustainable urban environment that encourages residents and visitors to adopt active lifestyles.
Engineering design according to the latest international standards
The new track was designed according to the latest engineering and technical standards to ensure a safe and optimal user experience. The project consists of two parallel paths; the first is dedicated to pedestrians and features a high-quality, joint-friendly rubber surface, reducing the risk of injury and ensuring the comfort of walkers and the elderly during long walks. The second path is dedicated to cyclists, ensuring a safe separation between different sports and catering to all age groups simultaneously.
24/7 Sustainability and Security
In its commitment to providing a safe and sustainable environment, the municipality enhanced the site with a modern, energy-efficient lighting network, including the installation of 20 decorative poles, each 8 meters high, equipped with LED spotlights. This technology contributes to energy conservation while providing ample illumination, ensuring safe exercise during the evenings, especially during the summer months when residents prefer to exercise at night. Furthermore, aesthetic improvements were made to the surrounding electrical transformers to enhance the overall visual appeal of the area and eliminate visual pollution.
Promoting the concepts of humanizing cities and quality of life
This project is particularly important as it aligns with the "Humanizing Cities" strategy adopted by the Eastern Province Municipality, which aims to transform cities and towns into people-friendly spaces, reducing their reliance on vehicles. Such projects create vibrant green spaces that contribute to improved public health, reduce the incidence of chronic diseases associated with sedentary lifestyles, and play a vital social role by providing healthy gathering places for community members.
For his part, Mayor Engineer Majid Al-Ruwaiss confirmed that this project comes within a package of development projects, explaining that the goal goes beyond just creating a walking path, to creating a vital outlet that raises the level of physical fitness of the community, and transforms the practice of sports from an individual hobby to a daily community culture available to everyone, in line with national aspirations to raise the percentage of sports practitioners in the Kingdom.
