Iran calls on Guterres to condemn the US-Israeli aggression against it

According to the Iranian news agency Tasnim, the Iranian Foreign Minister informed Abbas IraqiGuterres said in a phone call on Tuesday that Tehran expects the organization to condemn the American-Israeli aggression against it.
Araghchi pointed to the “responsibilities of the United Nations towards maintaining international peace and security,” and to the “serious expectation of the government and people of Iran that the Secretary-General and the UN Security Council will take stronger and more responsible positions in explicitly condemning the aggression and crimes committed.”.
He warned that “silence or inadequate responses to such acts could pave the way for continued instability and escalating tensions in the region.”.

Destruction of 16 Iranian ships
The US military announced that it destroyed 16 Iranian mine-laying vessels near the Strait of Hormuz , following reports that Iran had mined the waterway, which has been almost completely closed to shipping due to the war in the Middle East.
A post by the US Central Command (CENTCOM) on the X platform stated that “US forces destroyed a number of Iranian naval vessels, including 16 mine-laying vessels, near the Strait of Hormuz on March 10.”.
CENTCOM attached video footage to the post showing several ships being hit by projectiles and exploding.
