The Ministry confirmed that the store's operators were summoned and referred to the Committee for Reviewing Violations of the E-Commerce Law for legal action, due to their violation of Article Eleven of the E-Commerce Law. This
article stipulates: "It is prohibited to include in an electronic advertisement any false offer, statement, or claim, or any wording that could directly or indirectly deceive or mislead the consumer."
It is worth noting that the Ministry monitors and tracks online advertisements for e-commerce stores, refers violators to the Committee for Reviewing Violations of the E-Commerce Law, and issues fines of up to one million riyals, in addition to blocking and closing offending websites and prohibiting them from operating.
