A new partnership to enhance ambulance readiness in Medina

signed The Saudi Red Crescent Authority in the Madinah a memorandum of understanding with the Health Services Association forGuests of God and Visitors to the Kingdom, with the aim of strengthening joint cooperation and integrating efforts in the ambulance and volunteer fields, in order to contribute to raising the quality of services provided and speeding up the response to emergency cases.

Dr. Ahmed bin Ali Al-Zahrani, Director General of the Saudi Red Crescent Authority branch in the Madinah region, explained that this memorandum comes as an extension of the Authority’s efforts to strengthen community partnerships and activate integration with relevant authorities, in order to achieve the goals of the Kingdom’s Vision 2030 in developing health and ambulance services and improving the quality of life.

Supporting ambulance and rescue operations

He explained that the areas of cooperation include supporting ambulance and rescue operations, enhancing joint coordination in responding to emergencies, enabling volunteers to participate in field work according to approved medical protocols, and implementing specialized training programs in first aid and emergency response.

He pointed out that the memorandum also includes unifying communication channels between field teams, and utilizing the human and technical resources of both parties, which contributes to raising the efficiency of performance and reducing arrival time, especially in vital sites that witness a high density of visitors.

He stressed that this partnership will contribute - God willing - to enhancing field readiness and supporting humanitarian efforts provided to the pilgrims and residents of the Madinah region, reflecting the national role of the Authority in saving lives and providing ambulance services with high efficiency.
