Princess Nourah University launches the “Deanship of Graduate Studies: A Smart Deanship” initiative
This initiative aims to enhance the postgraduate studies system according to an advanced digital vision, through the employment of Artificial intelligence technologies Innovative digital solutions contribute to raising the efficiency of academic and research performance, enhancing the quality of services, developing governance of procedures, supporting institutional transformation, and improving the quality of scientific outputs and the knowledge impact of the university.
The university’s acting president, Dr. Fawzia bint Sulaiman Al-Amro, said in a speech during the launch that “the initiative represents a qualitative leap in the development of the postgraduate studies system, through the use of advanced technologies to build a more integrated and efficient academic model.”.
She noted that “the initiative contributes to raising the efficiency of operations, improving decisions, and empowering human capital, which directly reflects on the quality of outputs and increases their impact, and enhances the university’s competitiveness on the local and global map.”.
Integrated digital services
The initiative aims to bolster the university's leading position and academic reputation both locally and internationally as a pioneering model in adopting innovative initiatives. This will be achieved through integrated digital services that contribute to improving administrative and academic procedures, developing research supervision practices and thesis management, and activating smart technologies to support operations. Furthermore, it will streamline procedures and facilitate services for the graduate studies system, thereby providing a more flexible and effective research environment and enhancing academic competitiveness and scientific sustainability.
The launch program included several segments, featuring speeches by the Acting President of the University, Dr. Fawzia bint Sulaiman Al-Amro, and the Dean of Graduate Studies, Dr. Maha Al-Rashid. It concluded with the launch of a "Smart Deanship," a digital platform supporting the graduate studies system, aimed at graduate students, faculty members, and academic supervisors within the university.
This reflects the realization of Princess Nourah bint Abdulrahman University's strategic plan to build a smart academic system that supports comprehensive digital transformation and enhances its standing in academic and research excellence indicators, aligning with the goals of the National Transformation Program and the Kingdom's Vision 2030 in the education sector.
