King Salman Relief Center sends aid convoy to Gaza via Rafah

dispatched The King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center a new humanitarian aid convoy yesterday through the Rafah border crossing into the Gaza Strip, in accordance with the directives of the wise leadership of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to stand with the brotherly Palestinian people in their current plight. The convoy carried large quantities of shelter materials, specifically tents, as part of the Saudi popular campaign to aid the Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip.
A long history of Saudi support for Palestine
This convoy is not a fleeting event, but rather an extension of the long-standing support provided by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to the Palestinian cause over the past decades. Since the outbreak of the latest crisis, the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, and His Royal Highness Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, Deputy Prime Minister, directed the launch of a public campaign through the "Sahem" platform to provide relief to the Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip. This initiative reflects the Kingdom's unwavering commitment to providing urgent humanitarian aid and alleviating the suffering of those affected, as the Kingdom leads the regional and international relief efforts in responding to humanitarian crises.
King Salman Relief Center's efforts in providing shelter and food
On the ground, the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center at an accelerated pace to establish new camps to shelter those displaced by the bombing, while providing them with all necessary humanitarian assistance. In a related effort, the Center, through its project to develop and operate the central kitchen in the Gaza Strip, continued distributing hot meals to displaced people in the most affected areas.
The specialized teams continued the cooking and preparation operations from the early morning hours, with full commitment to health and regulatory standards to ensure the quality of the meals provided. The field teams of the Saudi Center for Culture and Heritage – the implementing partner of the center – are working to deliver these meals to those who deserve them in shelters and crowded population centers.
The importance of humanitarian response under the current circumstances
This aid is of paramount importance given the sharp deterioration of the humanitarian situation in the Gaza Strip, where residents are suffering from severe shortages of food, shelter, and medicine. The convoys dispatched by the Center help bridge the gap in basic needs, bolstering the resilience of the population and mitigating the severity of the humanitarian crisis. The Center's role is pivotal in coordinating international and regional efforts to ensure the delivery of aid across border crossings, underscoring the Kingdom's position as a key supporter of stability and humanitarian security in the region.
