Furthermore, students from the province achieved third place nationally in science and fourth place nationally in mathematics.
Global impact and distinguished international engagements
At the international and regional levels, the positive impact of these efforts is evident in the identification of 2,296 gifted students who passed the Mawhiba (Talent) assessment. This excellence culminated in students winning 15 medals at the KAUST Mathematics Competition and the nomination of 6 students to represent the Kingdom internationally at the 2026 Creativity Competition. Furthermore, students from the province garnered 135 medals at the Bebras Informatics Competition and 5 awards at the Seoul International Invention Fair, further enhancing the Kingdom's standing on the international stage.
Infrastructure development and future projects
To ensure the sustainability of this excellence, the education sector in the governorate is witnessing a surge in construction projects. Work has begun on two sports halls with a capacity of 900 female students, and six grass playing fields serving 1,524 students. Three school building projects are also underway, accommodating 1,800 students, and contracts have been signed for seven new projects with a capacity of 4,080 students.
