Yemeni Minister of Religious Endowments: The security of the Kingdom is a religious duty and a shared destiny

His Excellency Sheikh Dr. Mohammed Aida Shabiba, Minister of Endowments and Guidance of the Republic of Yemen, affirmed that the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has proven itself, at every historical and political juncture, to be the elder sister and trusted guardian of the Arab and Islamic nations. He pointed out that the Kingdom represents a fundamental pillar of stability in the region, deriving this from its profound spiritual standing as the Qibla of Muslims, the birthplace of revelation, and home to the Two Holy Mosques, thus granting it an undeniable strategic weight.
A religious duty and a national responsibility
The Yemeni minister emphasized in his remarks that preserving the security of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, safeguarding its leading position, and supporting its unifying role within the Arab world transcends a mere political responsibility, rising to the level of a religious, moral, and national duty. He clarified that any threat to the Kingdom's security targets not only its geographical borders but also its religious symbolism and leadership role, and constitutes an attempt to undermine its pivotal role in protecting the nation's vital causes and defending its holy sites.
Dimensions of the historical relationship and shared destiny
In discussing the nature of bilateral relations, the Minister of Religious Endowments' statements reflect the depth of the historical and geographical ties between the two brotherly nations. The relationship between Yemen and Saudi Arabia is not a recent development, nor is it governed by narrow, short-term interests. Rather, it is a relationship deeply rooted in history, governed by religious bonds, geographical proximity, and the social intermingling of tribes and families on both sides of the border, making the two countries essentially one in facing challenges.
Observers note that this statement comes at a time when the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia continues its leading role in supporting Yemeni legitimacy politically, militarily and economically, as well as its pioneering humanitarian role through the King Salman Center for Relief and Humanitarian Aid, which has provided and continues to provide support to millions of Yemenis, practically embodying the concept of "brotherhood" that the minister spoke about.
Confronting challenges and conspiracies
Dr. Shabiba warned of the conspiracies being hatched against the Kingdom, stressing that these challenges necessitate that everyone, peoples and governments alike, stand united behind the Saudi leadership, in word and deed. He pointed out that defending the Kingdom's stability is defending the stability of the entire region and protecting the resources of the Arab peoples from foreign interference and subversive projects targeting the security of the Gulf and the Arabian Peninsula.
His Excellency the Minister of Endowments concluded his statement by praying that God protect the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, its leadership and people, and that He protect Yemen and restore its stability, asking the Almighty to perpetuate the bonds of love and brotherhood between the two brotherly countries, and to protect the security of the region from all harm, stressing that the Kingdom’s standing by Yemen and Yemen’s standing by the Kingdom is a true embodiment of the unity of destiny and common values.
