Saudi Scouts honor outstanding units during Hajj 1446 AH

the Saudi Arabian Scouts Association honored the efforts of its field units, which demonstrated remarkable acts of devotion during the 1446 AH Hajj season. This took place during an official ceremony held in Riyadh, where a select group of scouts and leaders who provided exceptional services to the pilgrims were recognized, embodying the national system's appreciation for the pivotal role of volunteer work in the Kingdom.

Ceremonies to celebrate and document achievements

The Riyadh Technical College theater hosted this joyous ceremony, attended by the Vice President of the Association and General Supervisor of the Camps, Dr. Abdulrahman Al-Mudaires, along with a distinguished group of scouting and educational leaders. The ceremony featured a documentary presentation that transported the audience to the heart of the holy sites, showcasing vivid scenes that documented the journey of dedication and sacrifice undertaken by the scouts, and highlighting the impactful initiatives that contributed to the smooth flow of pilgrims and the provision of logistical and field support to them.

A long history of service in the holy sites

This distinction is not a recent phenomenon, but rather the culmination of a long and honorable history of Saudi scouts serving pilgrims for decades. Since the inception of scouting in the Kingdom, the association has taken upon itself the responsibility of supporting government agencies in crowd management and guiding lost pilgrims. This role has evolved over the years into a well-organized, institutional effort that utilizes the latest technologies in field surveys and the production of guide maps, making Saudi scouts a global icon in humanitarian and volunteer work, and a model to be emulated in managing crises and mass gatherings.

Strategic dimension and vision alignment

In his address during the ceremony, Dr. Al-Mudaires linked this recognition to the celebration of International Volunteer Day, noting that the coincidence of the two events gives the occasion a profound strategic dimension. He emphasized that the work of the scouts directly contributes to achieving the goals of the Kingdom's Vision 2030 , which aspires to reach one million volunteers, considering the Hajj season to be the largest and most honorable arena for applying the concepts of professional volunteering.

Supporting leadership and integrating efforts

The Director General expressed his appreciation for the generous and continuous support provided by the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques and His Royal Highness the Crown Prince – may God protect them – to the scouting sector. He emphasized that the successes achieved during the 1446 AH Hajj season are a direct result of this attention, which enabled the association to develop its tools and train its members. He pointed out that the integration between the scouting sectors and their partners was the decisive factor in transforming theoretical plans into tangible realities that eased the burden on pilgrims and facilitated the performance of their rituals.

The ceremony concluded with the presentation of commemorative shields and medals of excellence to the units that achieved the highest performance standards, in addition to honoring the Riyadh Technical College for its active partnership and hosting of this national event, which enhances the spirit of positive competition in preparation for the upcoming seasons.
