The World Assembly praises Saudi Arabia's efforts in empowering and supporting families
The World Assembly of Muslim Youth commended the generous care and exceptional attention given by the government of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to the family unit, affirming that these efforts reflect the Kingdom's pioneering role in empowering families and considering them the fundamental pillar and cornerstone of comprehensive and sustainable development. This commendation coincided with the celebration of the International Day of Families, observed annually on January 1st, an international occasion aimed at raising awareness of family issues and strengthening family bonds.
A strategic vision for empowering the Saudi family
The World Symposium clarified that the Kingdom's national efforts are not arbitrary, but rather stem from a comprehensive strategic vision aligned with the objectives of Vision 2030 , which prioritizes human happiness and societal well-being. These initiatives aim to strengthen the family's role, enhance its interaction with governmental and non-governmental institutions, and empower it to fulfill its educational and social responsibilities. Furthermore, through its relevant institutions, such as the Family Affairs Council, the Kingdom seeks to assist families in keeping pace with rapid social changes, thereby preserving national identity and social cohesion, recognizing the family as the fundamental building block of a vibrant and balanced society.
The importance of family stability in sustainable development
In a related context, reports and studies indicate that attention to the family transcends the traditional social dimension to become a developmental and economic necessity. A stable family is the true breeding ground for generations capable of building and contributing. The Saudi model of family care is a regional and international example, combining authenticity and the preservation of tolerant Islamic values with modernity in providing a dignified life and economic and social empowerment for family members, thus strengthening society's resilience against alien intellectual and behavioral challenges.
The role of the World Assembly in supporting families globally
In this context, the World Assembly of Muslim Youth (WAMY) affirmed that its programs and initiatives, spread across various continents and countries, place the family at the forefront of its strategic priorities. WAMY works through the implementation of a wide range of educational and training projects, as well as awareness and social programs, which directly contribute to supporting the stability of Muslim and non-Muslim families in diverse societies. These efforts focus on strengthening the role of parents in raising future generations, instilling moral and human values, and providing material and moral support, particularly in the most vulnerable communities suffering from economic or social crises that threaten the family unit.
The symposium concluded its statement by emphasizing that the integration between the governmental efforts led by the Kingdom and the organizational efforts undertaken by international bodies such as the World Symposium is the best way to achieve safe and stable societies in which the family enjoys its full rights and fulfills its duties towards its homelands.
