King Salman Center distributes shelter and food aid in 3 countries

The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, represented by its humanitarian arm, the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center , continued its pioneering journey in global charitable work, as the center implemented a series of simultaneous relief operations in three countries: Sudan, Afghanistan, and Yemen, targeting thousands of affected and displaced families to alleviate their suffering and provide for their basic needs.

Urgent shelter support for displaced people in Sudan

As part of its response to the humanitarian crisis in Sudan, the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center distributed 750 tents and shelter kits in Sheikan locality, North Kordofan State, two days ago. This aid helped provide decent shelter for 4,320 displaced individuals who were forced to leave their homes due to the current circumstances.

This aid comes as part of the project to distribute shelter materials in the Republic of Sudan, which is a vital response in light of the difficult conditions in which displaced people live, as providing safe shelter is the first step towards protecting families from harsh weather conditions and ensuring their human dignity in light of the severe shortage of infrastructure and services.

Enhancing food security in Afghanistan

In a related development, Saudi Arabia's humanitarian efforts extended to Afghanistan, where the center distributed 257 food baskets in Sar-e Pol province. These aid packages benefited 257 families, comprising 1,542 individuals, including those most in need: returnees to their homes, internally displaced persons, and orphans.

This distribution falls under the 2026 Food Security and Emergency Project in Afghanistan, which aims to bridge the food gap in affected areas, especially in light of the economic and living challenges facing the country, thus contributing to strengthening the resilience of local communities and combating malnutrition.

Winter clothing to combat the cold in Yemen

In Yemen, as part of preparations to cope with the harsh winter weather, the center distributed 2,780 shopping vouchers in the city district of Marib Governorate. These vouchers allow beneficiaries to purchase winter clothing appropriate to their needs, and 2,780 displaced individuals have benefited from this initiative.

This initiative is of paramount importance in Marib Governorate, which hosts huge numbers of displacement camps, where temperatures drop significantly in the desert and mountainous areas, posing a risk to the health of children and the elderly. These vouchers come to give families the freedom to choose what suits them from clothes that protect them from the bitter cold of winter.

The Kingdom's leading role in humanitarian work

These simultaneous actions embody the pivotal role played by the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center since its inception, serving as a beacon of hope and a humanitarian arm of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia extending its benevolence to the entire world without discrimination. These efforts underscore the Kingdom's unwavering commitment to supporting afflicted and affected populations and actively contributing to achieving humanitarian stability and alleviating the impact of disasters and crises regionally and internationally.
