In a new achievement added to the record of Saudi national competencies in international forums, the University of South Carolina in the United States of America celebrated the Saudi Professor Abdulaziz bin Fahd Al-Fahd, in recognition of his distinguished scientific and research contributions over more than a decade.
This recognition came through the National Resource Center for The First-Year Experience and Students in Transition, one of the world’s leading research centers specializing in the study and development of academic programs aimed at improving the experience of new students and ensuring their academic success.
A leading role in developing university education
Professor Al-Fahad's recognition was not arbitrary, but rather a culmination of his tireless efforts as an active member of the Center's International Council. His research and consulting contributions focused on addressing the challenges students face during their transitional phases, a critical period that shapes their future academic and professional paths. His ideas and insights have contributed to the development of modern educational strategies that have been implemented in numerous universities worldwide, helping to reduce dropout rates and improve the academic performance of new students.
The importance of the event and its academic context
This honor is particularly significant given the prestigious standing of the University of South Carolina and its International Center, a global leader in student affairs and higher education. The inclusion of a Saudi academic among the honorees at this esteemed institution reflects the remarkable progress of higher education in Saudi Arabia and underscores that Saudi researchers are no longer merely recipients of knowledge, but have become key partners in its production and development on a global scale.
Reflections of the Kingdom's Vision 2030
This achievement aligns with the goals of the Kingdom's Vision 2030, which places great emphasis on developing human capital and enhancing Saudi Arabia's international presence. Professor Al-Fuhaid serves as an inspiring example of national talent who have benefited from government support for scientific research and scholarships, returning to contribute to raising the Kingdom's profile. Such recognition strengthens the Kingdom's soft power and highlights the quality of its educational outcomes, while also opening broader horizons for academic collaboration between Saudi universities and their American and international counterparts.
In commenting on this honor, the center expressed in an official letter its deep gratitude for the extensive experience provided by Professor Al-Fahd, stressing that his professional contributions will remain a reference for specialists in the field of higher education, and a motivation for further development in university learning environments locally and internationally.
