Pilgrims begin arriving for Hajj via 30 flights

The Ministry of Hajj and Umrah in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia announced the arrival of pilgrims to the Kingdom through various air, land, and sea ports to perform Hajj this year. This step is part of a comprehensive system of services and facilities prepared by the government of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques. In the past few hours, approximately 30 flights carrying pilgrims from several Islamic countries have arrived, marking the official start of the Hajj season.
The ministry explained that airports received flights from several countries, most notably Pakistan, Turkey, Afghanistan, Malaysia, India, Bangladesh, and Thailand. These flights were received according to precise organizational procedures and with integrated services that ensured swift entry procedures and smooth arrival, reflecting full readiness to handle the expected large numbers of passengers.
The Kingdom's historic efforts in serving pilgrims
Historically, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has borne the honor of serving the Two Holy Mosques and caring for pilgrims since its unification by King Abdulaziz Al Saud – may God have mercy on him. Over the decades, the mechanisms for receiving pilgrims have evolved dramatically, transforming from arduous journeys that took months by caravan and ship to a modern system relying on the latest technologies and massive international airports. This historical development reflects the Saudi leadership's commitment to harnessing all capabilities and resources to ensure the comfort of pilgrims, and it is an extension of a well-established approach that is renewed annually through the expansion projects of the Two Holy Mosques and the development of infrastructure in Mecca and the Holy Sites.
Early preparations to facilitate the arrival of pilgrims
This achievement comes in implementation of the directives of the wise leadership and with the close follow-up of His Royal Highness Prince Abdulaziz bin Saud bin Nayef bin Abdulaziz, Minister of Interior and Chairman of the Supreme Hajj Committee. The relevant authorities worked together to ensure the smooth flow of entry procedures and the easy and safe movement of pilgrims to their accommodations. The Ministry indicated that the entry points witnessed a significant enhancement in operational readiness through the deployment of additional personnel, the activation of dedicated pilgrim lanes, and the preparation of reception facilities. This contributes to expediting procedures and improving performance efficiency, in addition to strengthening field coordination to ensure smooth movement from the moment of arrival.
Strategic dimensions and overall impact of the Hajj season
The success of the Hajj season is not limited to the religious aspect alone; it holds immense importance and far-reaching impact at the local, regional, and international levels. Locally, organizing the Hajj contributes to revitalizing the economy and providing thousands of seasonal job opportunities, in addition to being a fundamental pillar of Saudi Vision 2030, which aims to enrich the religious and cultural experience of pilgrims. Regionally and internationally, the Kingdom's success in managing these millions of pilgrims from all corners of the globe reinforces its leading position as the heart of the Islamic world and highlights its exceptional ability to manage crises and organize major events efficiently and effectively, thus presenting a global model to be emulated in crowd management and the provision of healthcare and security.
The Ministry highlighted the integrated efforts of all entities operating at entry points to facilitate arrival procedures and provide guidance and support services in multiple languages, enhancing the pilgrim experience and ensuring their smooth transfer to their accommodations in Mecca and Medina. It emphasized that these efforts are part of comprehensive operational plans and early preparations launched to provide the best possible services and enable pilgrims to perform their rituals in a safe, organized, and stable environment from the moment they arrive until their safe departure from the Kingdom.
