Umm Al-Qura University graduates its 74th class under the patronage of Khalid bin Faisal

On an exceptional academic evening in the Holy City of Mecca, under the generous patronage of the Advisor to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, the Governor of Mecca Region, His Royal Highness Prince Khalid bin Faisal bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Umm Al-Qura University celebrated the graduation of its seventy-fourth class of students for the academic year 1447 AH. The ceremony was graced by the presence of His Royal Highness Prince Saud bin Mishaal bin Abdulaziz, Deputy Governor of Mecca Region, representing His Royal Highness, and was held in the King Saud Hall at the university campus in Al-Abdiyyah.

A career full of achievements and records

This celebration marks the culmination of years of academic and intellectual pursuits, as the university sends forth a new cohort of 12,649 graduates into the Saudi labor market. This graduating class holds particular significance due to the diversity of its specializations, which align with the requirements of the Kingdom's Vision 2030, reflecting the pivotal role of Umm Al-Qura University as a prestigious center of learning in the heart of the Islamic world.

According to statistics released by the Dean of Admissions and Registration, Dr. Khalid bin Thamer Al-Thaqafi, female graduates outnumbered male graduates by a total of 7,763, compared to 4,886 male graduates. The degrees were distributed across all academic levels, thus providing various sectors with diverse expertise

  • Master's degree: 831 graduates.
  • PhD: 182 graduates.
  • Diploma: 3,054 graduates.
  • Higher Diploma: 62 graduates.

Inspirational words and a career oath

The ceremony opened with a speech by the university president, Professor Dr. Maadi bin Mohammed Al-Mathhab, who expressed his deepest gratitude to the wise leadership – may God support them – for their generous support of the education sector, congratulating the graduates and their families on this achievement. Al-Mathhab affirmed that the university will continue to fulfill its national mission of building human capital and developing the region.

In a solemn scene reflecting the magnitude of the responsibility, the graduates of the health colleges took the "Professional Honor Oath" behind the Dean of the College of Medicine, Dr. Ahmed Mufti, pledging to God to be sincere in serving patients and advancing the health sector, which represents a fundamental pillar in the health sector transformation program, one of the national vision programs.

Innovation and space... my students excelled

The ceremony was not limited to graduation; it also included a special tribute reflecting the Kingdom's focus on space and innovation. His Royal Highness the Deputy Governor of Makkah Region honored the team of female students from Umm Al-Qura University who developed the small satellite "Ufuq" and won the "Sari" competition launched by the Saudi Space Agency. This recognition highlights the qualitative leap in the university's educational outcomes and its focus on specialized and future-oriented fields.

The ceremony concluded with a speech by the graduates, delivered by student Ahmed bin Abdullah Al-Maliki, expressing feelings of pride and gratitude, and affirming the readiness of the 74th batch to actively contribute to the comprehensive development process that the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is witnessing.
