Ugandan Cultural Days at Al-Suwaidi Park within Global Harmony 2

The Saudi Ministry of Media, in partnership with the General Entertainment Authority, continues to enrich the cultural scene in Riyadh Season through the second edition of the "Global Harmony" initiative, as Al-Suwaidi Park prepares to host the "Ugandan Cultural Days" events starting tomorrow, following the great success achieved by the Philippine Cultural Days.
A journey to the heart of Africa in Riyadh
The upcoming Ugandan events offer a unique opportunity for audiences in the Kingdom to experience the culture of "The Pearl of Africa," a title bestowed upon Uganda due to its stunning natural beauty and rich ethnic and cultural diversity. A select group of Ugandan artists and influencers are scheduled to participate, presenting artistic performances that reflect authentic African heritage. Distinctive African rhythms will resonate throughout the park, accompanied by folk dances that tell the stories of the tribes and their long history.
The events will not be limited to theatrical and musical performances, but the park will also host special pavilions showcasing the handicrafts for which Uganda is famous, such as woodwork and colorful textiles, in addition to platforms for tasting popular foods that represent an essential part of the Ugandan identity, allowing visitors to have a complete sensory experience.
Strategic dimensions and Vision 2030
The "Global Harmony" initiative holds special significance that transcends mere entertainment, as it is central to the objectives of the Quality of Life Program, one of the programs under the Kingdom's Vision 2030. The initiative aims to highlight the cultural diversity of residents in the Kingdom, promote their integration into the social fabric, and showcase their contributions to development. These events also reflect the Kingdom's image as a hub for cultures and a center for civilizational exchange, thus reinforcing its international standing as a global tourist and cultural destination.
A successful conclusion to the Philippine Days
The launch of the Ugandan events comes as a continuation of the momentum generated by the "Philippine Cultural Days," which recently concluded amidst a large audience of thousands of citizens and residents. The past few days witnessed the organization of more than 30 diverse events, including acrobatic performances, circus acts, and folk dances from various Philippine islands, creating an atmosphere of joy and cultural exchange among different nationalities.
Al-Suwaidi Park, as one of the most prominent free areas of the Riyadh Season, continues to play its role as a bridge for cultural communication, presenting a living model of coexistence and harmony between peoples, and emphasizing the Kingdom’s message in promoting common human values.
