In a move aimed at enhancing the efficiency of the hospitality and tourism sector, the General Directorate of Technical and Vocational Training in Madinah received a high-level delegation from the Hotels Committee of the Madinah Chamber of Commerce. This meeting focused on exploring avenues for joint cooperation and developing operational mechanisms in training and vocational fields, with the goal of achieving national objectives through a comprehensive action plan centered on effective partnerships and investment in human capital.
Partnership to support the tourism labor market
During the meeting, the two parties discussed mechanisms for developing a strategic action plan aimed at optimizing investment in human resources and available training assets. The discussion focused on how to meet the growing needs of the labor market in the hotel sector, a key economic pillar in the region, by developing and enhancing the skills of national talent across various technical and professional fields related to hospitality.
The strategic importance of the hospitality sector in Medina
This step is of particular importance given the religious and historical significance of Medina, which receives millions of visitors, pilgrims, and Umrah performers annually. The accommodation and hospitality sector is the backbone of serving these visitors, creating a pressing need for qualified Saudi personnel trained to the highest international standards to provide services befitting the Kingdom's stature and the pilgrims. Cooperation between training institutions and the private sector is the cornerstone for ensuring the quality of graduates and their alignment with the actual operational requirements of hotels.

This move aligns with the goals of Saudi Vision 2030, which places great importance on the tourism sector and aims to increase its contribution to the GDP.
