Today, thanks to massive investments in infrastructure, this journey has been transformed into a safe and comfortable experience utilizing the latest and most advanced transportation methods. From the construction of highway networks equipped with the highest safety standards, to the launch of the Haramain High-Speed Railway and the Al-Mashaaer Metro, and the organization of modern bus and taxi fleets, the Kingdom has demonstrated its exceptional ability to manage millions of pilgrims and facilitate their movement within limited geographical areas and in a very short timeframe.
Strategic dimensions for developing transportation services during Hajj
The importance of these massive facilities extends far beyond the local level, leaving a positive impact both regionally and internationally. Locally, these efforts contribute to creating seasonal and permanent job opportunities and stimulating economic activity in Mecca and Medina. Regionally and internationally, the Kingdom's success in managing and organizing the movement of millions of pilgrims reinforces its leading position as a global model for crowd management and the development of the logistics sector. Providing multiple transportation options at approved prices, subject to strict regulatory and supervisory requirements, ensures service quality and the safety of pilgrims, sending a reassuring message to millions of Muslims worldwide that their pilgrimage will be in safe hands.
Integrated efforts to ensure a safe journey
This high level of preparedness is a result of integrated operational and organizational efforts undertaken by the Public Transport Authority in collaboration with various governmental and private entities. The ultimate goal is to enhance the readiness and operational efficiency of transport services by providing diverse options that cater to all pilgrims' needs.
