The Minister of Transport honors the winners of the transport challenge with prizes totaling 300,000 riyals

In a move reflecting the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia's commitment to fostering innovation in vital sectors, His Excellency the Minister of Transport and Logistics, Engineer Saleh bin Nasser Al-Jasser, honored the winners of the fourth edition of the "Transport Challenge" competition. This took place during the closing ceremony organized today by the Public Transport Authority, in the presence of the Acting President of the Authority, Dr. Rumaih bin Mohammed Al-Rumaih, and a number of dignitaries and stakeholders in the transport and logistics sector.

Crowning the winners and supporting innovators

The ceremony witnessed the crowning of outstanding teams that presented creative solutions to the challenges facing the sector, with the total prizes awarded amounting to 300,000 Saudi Riyals, distributed as follows:

  • First place: The team (Nero) was crowned, which deserved the title and a financial prize of 150,000 riyals in recognition of the excellence of their idea and its applicability.
  • Second place went to the (Sindan) team, which received a prize of 100,000 riyals.
  • Third place went to the project (Securing Flammable Material Carriers), with a prize of 50,000 riyals. This project touches on a vital aspect related to public safety on the roads.

Event context: National Transport and Logistics Strategy

This event is not a coincidence, but rather part of ongoing efforts to achieve the objectives of the National Transport and Logistics Strategy, launched by His Royal Highness the Crown Prince. This strategy aims to solidify the Kingdom's position as a global logistics hub connecting three continents and to enhance transport services and infrastructure to improve the quality of life.

Competitions such as the "Transport Challenge" (Transport Thon) are a key driver for attracting bright minds and national talents to provide smart technological solutions that contribute to raising operational efficiency, reducing costs, and improving traffic safety rates, which directly benefits the national economy.

The challenge, themed "Transfer Thon," kicked off and ran for three consecutive days (from December 4th to 6th), witnessing a large turnout of entrepreneurs and innovators. According to official statistics:

  • 121 contestants participated in the challenge .
  • The participants were divided into 40 teams who competed with honor and enthusiasm.
  • The teams worked within 4 different tracks covering all modes of transport and their challenges.
