Driving simulator experience at the Security Oasis exhibition during the Camel Festival

In a move aimed at promoting traffic safety concepts in a modern interactive style, the General Directorate of Traffic provided visitors to the "Oasis of Security" exhibition , held as part of the activities of the King Abdulaziz Camel Festival in its tenth edition in Al-Sayahid, north of the Riyadh region, with a unique opportunity to experience safe driving using the latest advanced simulator devices.
This initiative comes as part of the ongoing efforts of the Ministry of Interior and the security sectors to communicate directly with the public at major national events, and to take advantage of public gatherings to spread awareness and raise the level of traffic culture among different segments of society.
A real-life experience to enhance leadership skills
Visitors to the pavilion enjoy a highly accurate, hands-on experience that simulates real-world driving on public roads, using the same equipment used in leading driving schools. This experience aims to immerse visitors in diverse traffic scenarios that require adherence to safe driving practices, such as:
- Strict adherence to the speed limits set for each road.
- Maintaining a safe and sufficient distance between vehicles to avoid sudden accidents.
- Respecting right-of-way at intersections, entrances and exits.
- The correct way to deal with road surprises and different weather conditions.
Cultural context and strategic importance
The King Abdulaziz Camel Festival, which includes the "Security Oasis" exhibition, is one of the most important cultural, entertainment, and tourism festivals in the region and the world, aiming to preserve camel heritage and strengthen Saudi national identity. The presence of security sectors at such a large-scale event presents a strategic opportunity to reach hundreds of thousands of visitors from within the Kingdom and abroad.
The “Oasis of Security” exhibition reflects the great technological and human development witnessed by the security sectors in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, as the role of the exhibition is not limited to displaying equipment, but extends to providing awareness and educational messages that contribute to protecting lives and property.
Expected impact on traffic safety
These activities are of paramount importance in light of the Kingdom's Vision 2030 objectives, which place great emphasis on quality of life and reducing traffic accident rates. Simulation technologies are an effective tool for modifying unsafe driving behaviors, as they allow drivers to experience the consequences of unsafe driving in a virtual, risk-free environment. This positively impacts their actual behavior on the roads and contributes to achieving the national goal of reducing traffic fatalities and increasing compliance with traffic regulations.
