In a significant weather development, approximately 100 flights were canceled on Wednesday at Roissy-Charles de Gaulle Airport, France's main air gateway, in addition to 40 cancellations at Orly Airport. These decisions were made in response to heavy snowfall and icy conditions on the runways, as confirmed by French Transport Minister Philippe Tabarro in an interview with CNews television.
The Civil Aviation Authority and airlines had anticipated these disruptions since the previous day, and cancellations were scheduled to avoid overcrowding in terminals.
