The National Center of Meteorology announced its weather forecast, predicting temperatures in Mina, reaching a maximum of 45 degrees Celsius on the Day of Tarwiyah. This announcement comes amidst a comprehensive operational mobilization by all relevant authorities in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to provide accurate meteorological data, support pilgrim safety plans, and facilitate the performance of their rituals with ease and comfort.

On this great day, hundreds of thousands of pilgrims converge on Mina, following the tradition of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him), where they spend the night in preparation for standing on the sacred plain of Arafat. Historically, this day was named "Tarwiyah" because pilgrims used to quench their thirst with water and carry it with them to Arafat, which in the past lacked water sources. With the tremendous development witnessed in the holy sites today, services are available around the clock; however, monitoring weather conditions remains essential to ensuring the comfort and safety of the pilgrims.
Temperature forecast for Mina and accompanying weather phenomena
The National Center of Meteorology explained that weather forecasts indicate temperatures in Mina will range between a high of 45 degrees Celsius and a low of 28 degrees Celsius. This hot weather will be accompanied by strong northwesterly and northerly surface winds, which may reach speeds of up to 35 kilometers per hour. The center indicated that the expected weather conditions will be characterized by partly cloudy skies with some dust, while relative humidity levels are expected to reach 50 percent. This necessitates that pilgrims take precautions and avoid prolonged direct exposure to sunlight.
