The role of technical training in serving pilgrims and qualifying personnel

In a move reflecting the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia's commitment to developing its human capital, Engineer Reem Al-Muqbil, Deputy Governor for Planning and Business Development at the Technical and Vocational Training Corporation (TVTC), emphasized the pivotal role of technical training in supporting national development plans. The TVTC has dedicated all its human and technical resources to serving pilgrims, while also focusing on training hundreds of thousands of young men and women to meet the evolving needs of the labor market.

The history of technical training and its impact on national development

Historically, Saudi Arabia has placed great emphasis on the education and vocational training sector for decades, believing that investing in human capital is the cornerstone of national progress. With the launch of Saudi Vision 2030, the importance of technical training has intensified, becoming a key driver in diversifying the economy and reducing dependence on oil. The anticipated impact of this sector extends beyond the local sphere, contributing to the creation of a competitive national workforce capable of attracting regional and international investments, thus strengthening the Kingdom's position as a leading industrial and logistical hub in the Middle East.

Exceptional efforts in serving the guests of God

The Kingdom has always considered serving pilgrims a historical honor and a religious and national duty. In this context, the Foundation's contribution to the 1446 AH Hajj season stands out, with the participation of 1,383 male and female volunteers in the Holy Sites, the Two Holy Mosques, and border crossings. These specialized teams provided more than 7,000 services, including the maintenance of buses, vehicles, and public facilities, in addition to guidance and orientation services that benefited more than 123,000 pilgrims, reflecting the integrated government efforts to ensure the comfort and safety of the guests of God.

Aligning educational outputs with the labor market and bridging gaps

To ensure sustainable employment, the organization currently operates 320 training facilities offering 854 programs to over 338,000 trainees. The number of graduates is projected to reach approximately 82,000 by 2025. The organization successfully recruited 33% of high school graduates this year, nearing its strategic target of 40% by 2030. Furthermore, 50 training programs were developed and 15 new specializations were launched in vital fields, supported by strategic partnerships with over 150 partners across 19 key sectors.

Digital transformation and women's empowerment in modern disciplines

The institution has kept pace with the global technological revolution, achieving first place in digital content quality with a score of 99.13%. In 2025, it launched specialized programs such as robotics and artificial intelligence, accepting 387 trainees. Furthermore, female enrollment has witnessed an unprecedented surge, with the number of female trainees exceeding 71,000, representing a growth rate of over 10% in a single year. This growth is particularly evident in non-traditional fields such as logistics management, e-commerce, and web technologies, where women comprise 76.27% of the trainees.

Financial sustainability and spending efficiency

The biggest challenge for the business development sector is balancing the organization's developmental role with the transition to a sustainable financial model. The organization is working to overcome this challenge by strengthening partnerships with the private sector, growing its own revenue through facility investments, and improving operational efficiency through digital transformation, thus ensuring the continued delivery of high-quality training that meets the aspirations of the wise leadership and the hopes of Saudi youth.
