Launch of the 2025 Environmental Technical Scouting Work Camp in Hawtat Bani Tamim

The General Directorate of Technical and Vocational Training in Riyadh launched the activities of the Central Environmental Technical Scouting Work Camp for 2025 yesterday, Monday, hosted by the Secondary Industrial Institute and the Technical College branch in Hawtat Bani Tamim Governorate. This important event aims to integrate technical skills with environmental awareness among trainees, and its intensive activities and programs will continue until tomorrow, Wednesday, with a strong focus on promoting sustainability concepts.
National context and ambitious vision
This scouting gathering is not a random event, but rather aligns with the strategic directions of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia under Vision 2030, specifically regarding the "Green Saudi Arabia" initiative and human capacity development programs. Through these camps, the Technical and Vocational Training Corporation (TVTC) seeks to move beyond traditional training methods by integrating young Saudi talent into environmental initiatives, thus reinforcing the concept of "responsible citizenship." Historically, Saudi scouting has played a pivotal role in serving the community, and developing this role to be both "technical and environmental" represents a qualitative leap in the mechanisms of institutional volunteer work.
High readiness and a warm welcome
The first day of the camp saw the arrival of participating scout delegations from various training facilities, technical colleges, and industrial institutes in the Riyadh region. The reception was characterized by high organizational readiness and a warm welcome from the host team, creating a stimulating and positive environment for the effective launch of the scheduled training and volunteer programs within the camp plan from the very beginning. Tasks and teams were assigned to begin implementing the field plan.
Refining skills and building leadership qualities
This scouting gathering is an integral part of the General Organization for Technical and Vocational Training's strategic initiatives, aimed at developing trainees' life and environmental skills. The goal goes beyond mere participation; it seeks to cultivate a sense of social responsibility in young people by directly engaging them in activities that protect the environment and serve the local community. These activities help build the trainees' leadership qualities, teach them teamwork, crisis management, and field planning skills—soft skills that complement the hard technical skills they acquire in classrooms.
Institutional integration and sustainable impact
The camp benefits from extensive logistical support and strategic partnerships with several government agencies and private sector institutions in the province, reflecting an ideal model of institutional integration in supporting national initiatives. This collaboration provides all the necessary resources to ensure the success of the events and the achievement of their developmental goals. Trainees representing technical colleges and industrial institutes in the Riyadh region are participating in an intensive program of practical applications and field awareness activities that blend technology and the environment. This enriching experience, which continues throughout the camp, aims to promote the values of sustainable volunteer work, leaving a positive and lasting impact on the local environment in Hawtat Bani Tamim.
