Student Solidarity Registration: 3 Categories Excluded and Application Deadline

The Takaful Charitable Foundation in Saudi Arabia announced the start of registration for its financial aid programs for male and female students for the upcoming academic year, beginning today, Sunday, and continuing until the 24th of Sha'ban. This initiative is part of the foundation's ongoing efforts to provide necessary support to needy students in public schools, ensuring they can complete their education in a stimulating and stable environment.
Categories excluded from financial support
In its efforts to regulate disbursement processes and ensure that support reaches those who truly deserve it, the institution revealed new updates to the eligibility criteria, which included excluding three specific categories from the beneficiary lists, namely:
- Students who receive other rewards: This includes students who receive financial rewards from the Ministry of Education, in order to prevent double disbursement and to achieve the principle of fairness in the distribution of financial resources.
- Third-year high school students: These students were excluded because the allocated support is aimed at the next academic year, in which they will have graduated and moved on to university or the labor market.
- Students without official IDs: The institution stipulated that a valid official ID issued by official authorities was a basic condition for registration.
Registration mechanism and deadline
The foundation explained that the registration process relies heavily on technology to ensure speed and accuracy. School administrations identify students in need and register their initial data. Following this, the parent receives a text message on their registered phone number, giving them a maximum of five days to complete the online form. If there is no response within this period, the school has the right to replace the student with another from the waiting list, provided that the reason for the removal is documented to ensure transparency.
Priority for the children of fallen soldiers
In recognition of the immense sacrifices made by the nation's heroes, the directives emphasized giving the highest priority in registration to the children of fallen soldiers. The foundation affirmed that including this group in the support program does not affect the school's allocated quota, nor is it considered in the financial need assessment. Rather, it is a societal right and an acknowledgment of the sacrifices their fathers made for the security and stability of the Kingdom.
The importance of the Takaful program and its social impact
The Takaful Charitable Foundation is a key pillar of the social protection system linked to the education sector in the Kingdom. The program primarily aims to bridge the economic gap that may hinder some students' academic achievement, thereby contributing to a reduction in school dropout rates and promoting equal opportunities for all students. This support aligns with the goals of the Kingdom's Vision 2030 to build a vibrant society and provide educational opportunities for everyone, regardless of their economic circumstances.
Digital transformation and data modernization
The foundation noted that the new electronic system is intelligent and flexible, as it does not require re-entering data for previously enrolled students; rather, it is automatically transferred and updated. The system also provides an alert feature indicating whether a beneficiary has siblings in the same or other schools, which helps social research committees gain a comprehensive understanding of the family's financial situation, thus enabling more accurate and equitable decisions in distributing aid.
