A scout camp was launched in Taif to train students to serve pilgrims

The General Directorate of Education in Taif Governorate announced the launch of a scout preparatory camp dedicated to actively serving pilgrims during the 1447 AH Hajj season. This camp features the distinguished participation of 110 high school scouts, selected and trained to represent the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia with distinction in welcoming and serving the pilgrims of the Holy House of God.
The objectives of the scout camp and its role in enhancing service to pilgrims
This preparatory scout camp aims to provide scouts with practical field training and equip them with the essential skills needed to manage large crowds and guide and direct pilgrims. The Taif Education Department explained that the training program focuses on enhancing guidance and organizational skills, as well as instilling the values of volunteerism and humanitarianism in the students. The camp seeks to empower these young people to offer outstanding volunteer services that reflect the positive image of the nation's youth and their ongoing dedication to serving the pilgrims who come from all corners of the earth to perform Hajj.
History of voluntary scouting work during Hajj seasons
The history of Saudi scouts' participation in serving pilgrims spans decades, with the Saudi Arabian Scouts Association being a strategic and active partner in the success of annual Hajj plans, in cooperation with various governmental and non-governmental entities. These scouting initiatives align with the Kingdom's Vision 2030, which prioritizes volunteer work and serving pilgrims, aiming to increase the number of volunteers and improve the quality of services provided to visitors of the Two Holy Mosques. Taif Governorate, with its strategic geographical location and timing, is a major transit point for pilgrims, further emphasizing the importance of preparing and training young scout leaders there from an early age.
Local and regional impact of youth empowerment in Hajj
The training of over 100 high school students to participate in this great religious event carries profound educational and social dimensions at the local level; it contributes to building the character of young people and strengthening their sense of national and social responsibility. At the regional and international levels, these organized volunteer efforts demonstrate to the world the commitment of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, both its leadership and its people, to harnessing all human and technological resources to ensure the safety and comfort of pilgrims and to provide a smooth and secure Hajj experience befitting the status of the Two Holy Mosques.
Intensive training programs to ensure quality and efficiency
The Taif Education Department emphasized the importance of all participating leaders, scouts, and guides dedicating their utmost efforts and expertise to serving the pilgrims. To ensure the highest standards of efficiency in the field, participating students enrolled in a series of intensive training programs and courses. These included practical first aid training for handling emergencies, smart electronic surveying programs to guide lost pilgrims using modern technologies, and specialized workshops on interpersonal skills and effective communication with pilgrims from diverse cultures and nationalities.
