Violators of the safety and security regulations for maritime activities in Tabuk were apprehended

The General Directorate of Border Guards in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia announced the success of the coastal patrols in Al-Bada’a Governorate in the Tabuk region in arresting three citizens who committed clear violations of the security and safety regulations for maritime activities, after they practiced the profession of fishing without obtaining the necessary official permits from the concerned authorities, as quantities of fish caught in irregular ways were seized from them.

This security operation comes within the framework of the ongoing and intensive efforts exerted by the Saudi Border Guard sectors along the Kingdom's extensive coastline. These patrols operate around the clock to ensure the strict enforcement of maritime regulations and laws, and to minimize any violations that could negatively impact the marine environment or threaten the safety of beachgoers and those in territorial waters. In this regard, the General Directorate of the Border Guard urged all citizens, residents, and visitors to fully comply with the issued regulations and instructions, and to refrain from any practices that harm living aquatic resources or constitute an attack on wildlife and the marine environment.

The Directorate also called on everyone to take the initiative to report any violations or suspicious cases by calling the unified number (911) in the regions of Makkah, Madinah, Riyadh and the Eastern Province, or via the numbers (994), (999) and (996) in the rest of the regions of the Kingdom, stressing that all reports received will be dealt with in complete confidentiality and without holding the reporters responsible, in order to strengthen the principle of community partnership in protecting the nation’s environmental and security assets.
