Sunday's weather in Saudi Arabia: Thunderstorms and strong winds

The National Center for Meteorology announced details of the weather conditions for Sunday in Saudi Arabia, warning of unstable weather including thunderstorms and strong winds in several regions. These forecasts are part of the ongoing monitoring of weather conditions to ensure the safety of citizens and residents.

Climate and weather patterns in the Kingdom

The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is characterized by significant geographical and climatic diversity, making it susceptible to notable weather fluctuations, particularly during seasonal transitions. Historically, many of the southwestern and western highlands experience seasonal rainfall, which contributes to vegetation growth and replenishes water reserves. The National Center of Meteorology operates around the clock to monitor these changes and issue early warnings, reflecting the significant advancements in the Kingdom's weather monitoring system aimed at protecting lives and property.

Sunday's weather forecast: Thunderstorms and dust-raising winds

According to the official weather forecast issued by the Meteorology Department for Sunday, there remains a chance of thunderstorms accompanied by hail in parts of Jazan, Asir, Al-Baha, Makkah, and Madinah regions. This weather pattern also extends to parts of Hail region. Meanwhile, active winds stirring up dust and sand will continue, potentially reducing horizontal visibility in parts of these regions, as well as parts of Al-Jawf, the Northern Borders, the Eastern Province, Qassim, Riyadh, and Najran.

The impact of weather conditions on daily life and navigation

These weather changes have direct impacts on daily life. Locally, thunderstorms and potential flash floods require drivers to exercise caution and avoid valleys. Dust-laden winds also affect those with respiratory conditions and disrupt traffic on highways. Economically and environmentally, rainfall boosts the agricultural sector in regions like Asir and Jazan. Regarding maritime navigation, changes in wind speed and wave height necessitate heightened vigilance from fishermen and other seafarers to ensure their safety.
