Al-Sudais launches the "Fortification" initiative to enhance intellectual security at the Prophet's Mosque
In a significant step aimed at promoting tolerant Islamic values and protecting society from alien ideologies, His Excellency the President of Religious Affairs at the Grand Mosque and the Prophet's Mosque, Sheikh Dr. Abdulrahman bin Abdulaziz Al-Sudais, launched the “Fortification” initiative today. This initiative is part of the Presidency’s strategy to enhance intellectual security, solidify the principles of moderation and balance, and disseminate enlightened Islamic awareness within the precincts of the Prophet’s Mosque.
Context of the initiative and its strategic importance
The “Tahseen” initiative is of particular importance given the contemporary intellectual challenges facing the Muslim world. Saudi Arabia, in its leading role within the Islamic world, seeks to present the true model of Islam, one based on tolerance and compassion. This initiative is an extension of the Kingdom’s historical efforts to serve the Two Holy Mosques, not only in terms of infrastructure and services, but also intellectually and academically, ensuring that visitors to the Two Holy Mosques draw from the pure wellspring of Islamic doctrine, free from extremism or negligence.
Pillars and objectives of the “Tahseen” initiative
Sheikh Al-Sudais explained that the initiative focuses on providing specialized and intensive educational content in the field of intellectual fortification. This content aims to address the most prominent contemporary intellectual issues in a sound and scholarly manner, contributing to building a correct understanding among the recipients and strengthening the concepts of intellectual security that protect the Muslim mind from doubts and deviations. The initiative includes a range of diverse programs:
- Public awareness lectures: These are held within the corridors of the Prophet’s Mosque and target millions of visitors and pilgrims of various nationalities, to introduce them to the concepts of moderation and to warn against the dangers of extremism and intellectual deviation.
- Training programs for staff: The initiative includes intellectual lectures dedicated to the staff of the Presidency, with the aim of raising their cognitive efficiency and intellectually fortifying them, so that they may be the best ambassadors for the message of the Two Holy Mosques.
Promoting the message of moderation globally
His Excellency Sheikh Al-Sudais affirmed that “Tahseen” is not merely a passing program, but rather an extension of the Two Holy Mosques’ global mission to spread the message of moderation and confront deviant ideologies with the weapons of knowledge, wisdom, and good counsel. These efforts align with the objectives of the Kingdom’s Vision 2030, which focuses on promoting the values of tolerance and moderation.
Through this initiative, the Presidency of Religious Affairs seeks to achieve institutional excellence and maximize the religious and scientific impact locally and globally, stressing that intellectual security is the basic pillar for the stability and prosperity of societies, and that the Two Holy Mosques are the first starting point for correcting misconceptions about Islam.
