Stray Kids achieve a historic milestone on Billboard with their album Do It

In a new global musical achievement that reinforces K-Pop's position on the international stage, South Korean group Stray Kids continued their absolute dominance of the American music charts, with their new album "DO IT" topping the Billboard 200 chart this week. This achievement is not just another number; it extends the group's record as the most successful group topping this prestigious chart this century (since 2000), placing them among the legends of global music.
Complete dominance over six global schemes
The group, managed by JYP Entertainment, didn't stop at this success; they extended their dominance to five other Billboard charts, resulting in a total of six charts released simultaneously. In addition to the Billboard 200, their album "DO IT" topped the following charts:
- Billboard chart of best-selling albums.
- Billboard's chart of the best-selling current albums.
- World Albums Chart.
The band also reclaimed the top spot on the “Artist 100” chart, a strong indicator of the band members’ overwhelming popularity and widespread influence in the music industry, supported by a huge fan base known as “STAY”.
The song “Do It” breaks into the Hot 100 chart
On the single front, the album's title track, "Do It," achieved remarkable success, topping the Billboard World Digital Song Sales chart. More importantly, the song broke into the US's most challenging chart, the Billboard Hot 100, debuting at number 68.
Entering the Hot 100 chart is a gold standard of success in the US market, and with this achievement, "Do It" becomes Stray Kids' fifth song to enter this chart, adding another milestone to their impressive record. It follows previous hits such as "LALALALA" (number 90), "Lose My Breath" (number 90), "Chk Chk Boom" (number 49), and "CEREMONY" (number 52).
Global context and K-pop impact
This success underscores the significant shift in the global music industry, where language is no longer a barrier to reaching Western audiences. Stray Kids, known for their self-produced songs through their in-house production unit (3RACHA), are considered pioneers of the fourth generation of K-pop. Their continued chart-topping success in the US reflects artistic maturity and a remarkable ability to create music that blends Korean identity with modern global trends.
This continued expansion not only enhances the band's standing, but also opens the door wide for more Asian artists to take center stage on the global scene, confirming that music is a universal language that transcends geographical and cultural boundaries.
