Applications for overseas scholarships will open via the Qubool platform next Thursday

The National Unified Admission Platform, "Qabool," announced its full readiness to begin accepting applications for the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques Scholarship Program for Overseas Studies, starting next Thursday. This step comes through a unified and upgraded electronic portal that integrates scholarship application procedures with admission processes at government universities, technical colleges, and the Technical and Vocational Training Corporation, representing a significant leap forward aimed at facilitating the student journey and unifying efforts to serve beneficiaries under a single digital umbrella.
Strategic context and ambitious vision
This announcement comes amidst the significant transformation underway in the education sector in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, in line with the objectives of Vision 2030 and the Human Capital Development Program. Studying abroad is no longer merely a means to obtain academic degrees, but has become a strategic tool to empower national talent to compete globally. The integration of scholarship procedures with domestic university admissions reflects the leadership's commitment to providing diverse and comprehensive educational options for students, ensuring alignment between educational outcomes and the evolving needs of the labor market, both locally and internationally.
Application details and deadlines
The relevant authorities clarified that the application period for university and training placements will continue until May 7th, 2026. The platform has ensured ample time for students to accurately complete their information and review their preferences within the expanded range of options introduced this year, covering all educational pathways both within and outside the Kingdom. Regarding admission results, the period from June 12th to 14th has been designated as the decisive date for announcing the results and confirming nominations. This will give accepted students sufficient time to finalize travel arrangements, obtain visas, and enroll in their respective international universities according to their established schedules.
Scholarship pathways: Pillars for building the future
The Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques Scholarship Program, in its new strategy, is based on four qualitative tracks that have been carefully designed to raise the efficiency of human capital:
- The Pioneers Track: This is the most distinguished track, as it opens exceptional horizons for sending male and female students to the top 30 prestigious educational institutions around the world, with the aim of creating future leaders in various fields.
- Supply Track: Focuses directly on meeting labor market needs by sending students to a select list of the top 200 global universities and institutes, to ensure the market is supplied with highly qualified talent.
- A promising path: It aims to rehabilitate and enhance national capabilities through study and training in promising sectors and fields required by major projects and the Kingdom’s future visions.
- Research and Development Track: This track is the cornerstone for the development of scientists and researchers, and aims to build an integrated knowledge system that contributes to the scientific advancement of the Kingdom and supports innovation.
Expected impact locally and globally
This new system, implemented through the "Qubool" platform, is expected to enhance the efficiency of educational spending and improve the student experience, in addition to strengthening Saudi Arabia's presence in international academic forums. Guiding students towards specialized fields and prestigious international universities will directly benefit the national economy by localizing knowledge and transferring global expertise, thus reinforcing the Kingdom's position as a regional hub for human talent and expertise.
